The Catholic Church celebrates the Holy Baptism of the Lord Jesus Christ on this Sunday and it marks the end of the Christmas celebration in the Catholic Church. In the life of Christians, after the physical birth of a child, the next step is to bring the child into the world spiritually and to surrender his or her life to God through the sacrament of Baptism, for this is only the means to "eliminate the sin from the elders Adam and Eve". This is why, after the birth of Jesus at Christmas, baptism was given a few days later, depending on the nature of the church.
In all three gospels, the Holy Spirit is depicted as descending upon Jesus immediately after his baptism accompanied by a voice from Heaven, but the accounts of Luke and Mark record the voice as addressing Jesus by saying "You are my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased", while in Matthew the voice states "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased" (Matthew 3:13–17; Mark 1:9–11; Luke 3:21–23). In Matthew 3:14, upon meeting Jesus, John said: "I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?" However, Jesus convinces John to baptize him nonetheless. The voice from heaven says "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased". This Gospel of the Lord brings to the community a sense of truth and the ability to follow Jesus through baptism.
CBB Kigali was therefore happy to celebrate this day in the presence of the entire community and is also delighted to wish every Christian in the Community, the country and the whole world days full of joy, love, happiness from Heaven and that the Lord gives us the power and ability to praise Him.
